6th Floor Blog Rocks!

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann, Sara, Frank

Subject: Opening Night at the Rock

It’s Friday night and Sara Is sitting at the table with a beer and a book of second degree black belt level Sodoku when Ann and Frank come home.

Hey guys, where were you tonight?”

We went to the Rock.”

The Rock?”

Yup. You know, the Prudential Center.”

You went to Newark? Eww..”

Devils opening night! Hockey Hockey Hockey!”

Ahh..I almost turned the Rays/Sox game on, but then I didn’t.”

Islanders put on a poor show sadly. They really could use a shooter.”

Devils Win! They even looked a little rusty too. The whole game was a little bit sloppy.”

I don’t know why DiPietro didn’t start.”

Me neither. That arena is very nice though.”

Oh yeah? I’d heard it was a nice place. Better than the Garden?”

Hell yeah..The Garden’s not exactly top of the line you know.”

And neither are the Rangers!”

Hey now!”

And neither are the Knicks!”

Better. Did you know the Knicks are actually named for beer?”

Really? I might have to like them a little more now.”

Yeah, the Rock was great. It was wide open and pretty spacious. Had some decent food. The only drawback is it’s Newark. And the Devils.”

Beer selections not bad, though they might play off the building being called “The Rock” a bit too much. There was a beer stand that sold only Rolling Rock, and Michelob Amber Bock, and said ‘Rock the Bock’.”

Glad you guys had fun. Maybe I’ll come with you if you go again. I haven’t been to a hockey game in a while.”

Sure, we were thinking about going the next time the Islanders go there.”

And hopefully the Islanders win that time…” Ann mutters.

Failure to Drink

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann, Sara, Tabitha, Frank, Billy and Scott.

Subject:  Failure to Drink

“Come on, it’s raining harder now!”

“Beer.  It’s rain or shine, we can’t back out now!”

“No one ever died from being a little wet.  Drink another beer and we’ll be fine.”

“I do agree, it’s raining.”

“And the sky is blue, and that couple over there is really in to each other!”

“Wow, they’re really going at it.”

“I guess that’s one thing to do while we wait.”  Frank eyes Sara.

“Get those dirty eyes off of me!”

“Really now, we’re going to spend the next four plus hours standing in the rain drinking tiny glasses of beer and waiting in line?”

“You’re so pleasant when you’re wet Tab.”

“That’s what she said!” Frank yells.

“Good one Frank!”

“I’m singing in the rain..Such a ..”

“Oh my god! Stop singing!”  Sara shoves Ann.

“Yeah, stick to the writing Ann.  You can’t carry a tune.”

“This line to get in is so long! I want my beer!”

“Can we please go somewhere and drink inside at least?  Do we really need to drink in the rain? Is the beer here really that good?”

“Okay, Okay . Fine.  Let’s go fine an indoor bar.  SoHo, or around here?”

“Let’s just get inside and dry off.  We can always move uptown later.”

“I guess if we’re drying out, I’ll get a dry martini.”

“Are you 80?  Do people are age drink dry martinis?  Do you even like gin?”

“Gin? That’s what they put in martinis?  Weird.”

“I’m in the mood for a Cosmo.”

“Cosmos all around!”

Scott looks at Billy and Frank.  “Are we okay with drinking cosmos?”

“They are a little girly.”

“Looks like the Mets are going to make the Playoffs.”

Scott and Frank grunt.

“Okay, that’s manly enough.  I guess we can have Cosmos.”

“That was…special.  Come on, there’s a bar over there.”  Tabitha leads them into a nearby bar.

“Crowded.  Looks like we’re not the only ones getting out of the rain.”

“I guess alcohol is alcohol.  Beer is beer.”

“That may be the smartest thing you’ve said all day.”  Sara says sarcastically.

“To make up for it, we can go to Brewtopia at the Javits Center.  I think it’s in early November.”

“You saying you weren’t going to suggest we go there anyway?”

“Beer tastes different in November…we’re obligated to be there.”

“You’re not going to rest until you’ve drank everywhere in New York, are you?”

“Maybe not even then.”

Beer, Lots of Beer

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann, Sara, Tabitha, Frank, Billy and Scott.

Subject: Beer is Good! Beer is Good!

We’ve always been friendly to the new drinking holidays. We went to Brewfest last week, and we celebrated Repeal Day in December. This year there is a whole craft beer week starting with Brewfest, having beer specials and bar crawls all week and culminating in the Manhattan Cask Ale Festival the following weekend.

“You guys psyched for Craft Beer Week?!”

“You bet!”

“I actually am. They’ve really went all out. Bar crawls, beer festivals? If I still have a liver by next weekend..”

“It’s supposed to be a nice day. Wind in our hair, beer in our throats.”

“I don’t know if I’m up for any of those bar crawls all week though.”

“Oh you wuss. We don’t have to get completely trashed Every night. Some nights we can just chill and enjoy beer specials.”

“Yeah, that’s true. I enjoy all the cask ales actually. They’re usually so different. Very unbeerlike.”

“So we’re going to spend this weekend, most of this week, and next weekend pigging out on beer? I have to be honest..that sounds like a normal week.”

“Are you trying to ruin it? It’ll be a blast!”

“Eh.”

“Aww..is little Annie grumpy?”

“Little Annie..haha. I like it.”

“Repeat it and die.”

“I think someone needs a beer.”

“Lucky we’re going to get some then.”

“And on Sunday we’ll get more beer, and mead! At the Renn Faire.”

“I almost forgot we’re going to the faire! I love that place, but I haven’t been in years.”

“That’s right. On Sunday we will time travel back to the middle ages.”

“I wonder if I’ll have cell reception.”

“You can’t use a cell phone in the middle ages! That’s just wrong!”

“I’m not going to use it much, I just need to check the Mets score once or twice.”

“Or 18 times.”

“You’re lucky, you don’t have to worry about the Yankees score. It doesn’t matter anymore.”

“Lucky that they’re eliminated…I’m not sure lucky is the right word.”

“So beer this weekend. What are we doing tonight?”

“Beer?”

Tabitha and Ann together: “No!”

“Oh alright. We’ll have a sober night.”

“We’ll try to keep you distracted from the withdrawal.” Frank jokes.

“My hero!”

Beer Garden

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann, Sara, Tabitha, Frank, Billy and Scott.

Subject: Beer Garden

“There! Quick, grab it!”

Frank maneuvers through the crowd and quickly sits at a table of a recently departed group of Asian guys.

“Good grab.” Ann says, sliding into the table across from Frank. “I hate when we have to stand here, makes it hard to have more than one pitcher of beer at a time.”

“We haven’t been to the beer garden in ages. This place is great!”

“It is nice to drink in the fresh air once in a while, instead of those dank, dirty bars. Guess it’s one of the few nice things about Queens.”

Sara coughs as a cloud of cigarette smoke drifts by. “Well, semi-fresh air anyway.”

“Where’d Billy go?”

“Presumably to get us our first pitcher of beer.”

“Nope. Food.” Ann points out Billy on line outside the food tent.

“Fine, I guess I’ll get the first pitcher. I shall return.”

“I’m going to join Billy, I want some food in me so I don’t get too drunk.”

“Anyone want anything?” Tabitha asks as she gets up.

“Nah, I ate already.” Sara says, as Ann and Scott shake their heads.

“Did we remember to bring cards or a game or something?”

“I’ve got a deck of cards. We should’ve brought Killer Bunnies!”

“Bunnies? You know someone would just spill something on it and ruin the cards. Ann can be such a clutz.”

“Thanks. We could’ve brought UNO or something. That’s simple and mindless.”

“We’ve got cards, I think we can manage.”

“We could make like that table over there, and play Jenga!”

“Drinking Jenga? I wonder how that’d work?”

“I don’t think it would. After a little while I can’t imagine any game lasting long.”

Tabitha and Billy return carrying plates of food. Tabitha has a veggie burger and fries, and Billy has two foot long bratwursts and fries.

“Didn’t pour me a beer yet? You’re slacking Frank!”

“I’m still trying to decide what kind of joke to make about you eating those gigantic brats.”

The usual shenanigans continued from there. Before we knew it, the sun had set and we were on our 5th pitcher of beer. 7th pitcher of beer? Before we knew it, we’d lost count of how many pitchers of beer we’d drank, and how many French fries we’d thrown at each other. Somehow we’d ended up playing Rummi 500 of all games.

“I’m still waiting for a third three. I can’t believe we haven’t come across it yet.”

“I think we lost a handful of cards to the spilt beer pitcher of game two.”

“Did we only lose threes? This is insane!” Tabitha exclaims, as she draws a card from the deck.”

“Well, the odds of two of the seven cards we lost being threes would..”

“No math! This isn’t poker and we’re drinking, not mathing!”

“At least we don’t have a silly ‘asshole hat’ made out of napkins like that table of college kids that stumbled out of here 40 minutes ago.”

“Aww, I thought the hat was cool!”

“I really thought there weren’t supposed to be drinking games here.”

“I think they just mean take over the tables and play huge games of beer pong.”

“Better this way anyway, I rock at beer pong and you would’ve been embarrassed.”

“Don’t be so sure!”

“Aren’t we a little old for beer pong?”

“You’re never too old for beer pong!”

“You and Scott will be playing beer pong in your retirement homes I’m sure. One more round? Or should we stumble out of here?”

“Should we stop at that diner before getting on the train?”

“Are you really hungry after those two giant bratwurst?”

“That was..hours ago! The diner’s supposed to be good.”

“Can you taste anything anymore? We’ve eaten there before..I just don’t remember if it was good.”

“I don’t remember being disgusted with it.”

“I don’t think I remember it at all.”

“All the more reason to try it again.”

“Why not? We know better than to get between you and food anyway.”

We got up and made our way down (or was it up?) the street to the diner. I remember someone ordered pancakes, but not much else. Billy’s insisting that it’s the best diner he’s ever eaten at in the City, but I think he’s ashamed to admit he doesn’t remember much either.

(Has anyone noticed the blog acting weird? It seems like it’s combining posts so that text doesn’t match the titles and screwing up in IE (and chrome Sara tells me).)

All-Star Aftermath

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann, Sara, Tabitha, Billy and Scott.

Subject: How we fared

Wasn’t going to bother with an aftermath post, (Alright, I’m just lazy), but Brave Astronaut asked in a comment: So the game went on longer than many expected. Anyone up yet there on the sixth floor? Did anyone make it to the end? I fell asleep in the 13th. No drinking was involved, unfortunately. I’m just old.” So since I/we don’t get many commenter requests I figured I’d acquiesce (Never used that word before, it’s a bugger to spell), and rather than a comment reply which chances are he’d never check back to see, I’d just post.

Ann: I’m not that into baseball, and I was going to read while we watched, but Sara made me put down my book and Scott forced beer into my hands and made me pay attention. I cheated a little and didn’t always drink when I was supposed to. (See? I can too cheat when I want to Scott!) When the game (both drinking and All-Star) deteriorated, I stopped drinking and was pretty much fine.

Sara: Sara was doing fine, until Billy Wagner blew the save. Sara points out that had he not let up runs last year, the NL would’ve won that one too. While she continued playing after that, She was also doing plenty of side-drinking too. She stumbled out of here this morning to go to work not looking pleasant, and she had _two_ travel mugs of coffee with her.

Tabitha: Tabitha likes baseball the least of any of us, but that led her to really pay attention to the drinking cues rather than any of the actual game. She switched between beer and weak kamikazis, so she was pretty much okay by morning.

Billy: Billy really took to the game, and since he was off Wednesday he didn’t even have to worry about work. Even though we did stay up for the end of the game, Billy had to ask Sara the score the next morning, because he didn’t even remember that we stopped paying attention to the drinking game sometime in extra innings.

Scott: Scott’s really developing a crazy tolerance. We joke that no longer can we buy a six pack and split it evenly, he has to get his own. Tonight Scott may have gone overboard, finding excuses to take shots all night long. There is a disturbingly empty looking bottle of gin in the sink (and cracked) and I’m hoping that most of it leaked out through that crack and not into Scott. Scott was all ready to start up a game of asshole after the game ended, and even got as far as bringing out the cards before we groaned at him. After the game ended he decided it was a good idea to make pancakes, which made some of us nauseous and the others hungry. This became funnier in the morning when Tab, not really hungover but very groggy, sat down at the table and ended up sitting in a half cooked left over pancake. Apparently Scott was experimenting with his pancake flipping abilities..drunk and lost one. I wish I’d gotten a picture.

Getting Smarter

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann, Sara, Tabitha, Frank, Billy and Scott.

Subject: Getting Smart

The 6th Floor Gang is returning from appetizers and drinks at Catalina’s, and slowly walking back to the 6th Floor.

“Why haven’t we seen Get Smart yet?”

“I loved that show when I was younger, I almost went without you on Saturday.”

“It was on in the late 60s. You’re older than I thought Scott.”

Scott scrunches up his face and starts hobbling down the street. “Back in my day..we had to wind up our boob tubes. And we had to walk three miles in the snow to school. Uphill!”

“They played it a lot on Nick at Night in the 80s. I assume that’s what he means.”

“Oh. He still makes a good geezer.”

“No doubt about that.”

“I was all psyched to see it Friday night, but when I got home no one else was here.”

“I was there…just sleeping.”

“Sleeping! It was 9:30!”

“I had a rough day..”

“That’s why they invented beer!”

“And scotch.”

“Since when did you start drinking scotch?”

“I’ve had it once or twice, it’s pretty good.”

“Sleeping is healthier and leaves me feeling better in the morning.”

“Everyone’s always complaining they’re tired. I don’t get it.”

Take out your coffee-iv and maybe you would.

“I don’t use an IV, drinking it’s half the fun!”

You know what I mean.

The group arrives at their door.

Not it!

Billy and Scott put their fingers on their noses.

“I don’t have my keys.”

“Me neither.”

Frank looks around and sighs.

Damn. Frank fiddles for his keys and unlocks the apartment door.

Sara’s New Job

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann, Sara, Frank and Scott.

Subject: Sara’s New Job

Sara strolls in around seven o’clock and plops on the couch, gesturing to Frank and then to the fridge.

So how was your first day of work Sara?”

Frank grabs two beers from the fridge, opens them and hands one to Sara.

Could’ve gone better.” Sara says, after a long pull from the beer bottle.

The people nice?”

Too early to tell. They seem nice enough. Jersey City is a freaking dump though.”

Didn’t we tell you that Jersey sucked?”

North Jersey is nice. I don’t think I’ve been to Jersey City though. Not nice huh?”

Nope. Path train isn’t too bad though. The seats are more uncomfortable, but there are much less people on it than the subway.”

Reverse commute I guess. That’s nice at least.”

They had trouble setting up some of my accounts, so I wasn’t even able to do much. A lot of reading.”

Weren’t prepared for you? But you accepted like three weeks ago!”

I know. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.”

It’ll probably get better when you settle in.”

Speaking of settling in, they don’t have a space for me yet. My desk is literally in the kitchen, with four other people.”

In the kitchen? That’s classic. I always knew a woman’s place was in the kitchen..”

At least you’re not far from your precious coffee beans.”

I wish I was farther! You know how hard it is to take a break to get coffee when the machine’s practically on your desk?!”

Oooh..that sucks. And you don’t smoke, so you can’t even take a smoke break.”

Take your coffee breaks by leaving and getting Starbucks.”

Actually, there is no Starbucks in Journal Square. There is a Dunkin’ Donuts, but no Starbucks. It’s a horrible place.”

Who knows, maybe you’ll find something better elsewhere. At least you have insurance right?”

Yeah, I will in two months. And I actually get transportation reimbursement which is cool.”

That is pretty nifty. Another beer?”

Definitely. Bring one for Scott too, I saw him eying mine when he walked in.”

I just love your bottles.”

That doesn’t even make any sense.”

You might as well have one too Ann.” Frank says, passing out beer.

Terrific. Tuesday night, Friday night. It’s always time for beer right?”

It’s always happy hour somewhere in the world. Cheers!” Scott raises his beer bottle, and the others clink theirs to his.

Blog Drink-Off, Vote!

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann

Subject: Drinking Story

Brave Astronaut has created a March Madness style Drink-Off with the competition being the best drinking stories. Our post on the topic is posted there, at Take me Drunk, I’m Home, and voting closes on Tuesday, so read our story and vote for it! The story actually takes place pre-blog, it’s almost like a flashback episode. So check it out, and hopefully Sara will stop playing Smash Brothers long enough to post the entry she started about playing smash brothers, although I have to admit, it’s a fun game.

6th Floor Anniversary

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann, Sara, Tabitha, Frank, Billy and Scott.

Subject: 6th Floor Anniversary

Our second anniversary party went off much better than the first. We came up with a couple of exciting drink recipes that were better than a Desert Island, Sara make a chocolate, caramel, peanut butter, banana cake that was delicious. I forgot to take a picture of it, but we got the recipe from the cupcakeblog, which has pictures. There were residual effects of the party that lasted into Sunday, but that’s a separate post. Oddly enough, Frank’s brother John made his second visit this weekend, again being able to catch our party. My boyfriend Mark was here ,as was Billy’s girlfriend Janine. Amy and Sue attended, our former neighbors who have moved out, as did other building tenants Henry, Mike, and Brett. There were a couple of other people, and friends of friends, all in all making our apartment pretty packed.

Mike: “Hey guys! I brought some Coronas, I remember you had a beer shortage last year.”

Thanks Mike, this year should be better. Scott, put this by the rest of the drinks.”

Scott puts the case of beer under the small table we have pushed into the corner with drinks and mixers and an ice bucket, grabs a beer, and retreats to the corner where Brett, John and Frank were standing, drinks in hand. “What are you guys talking about?”

The new Grand Theft Auto game.”

Brett: “It’s going to be awesome, I’ve been looking at all of the screen shots and videos online.”

John: “They have a shot of the rundown world’s fair. I know they have a sports team called the swingers, and I think the stadium must be located at Shea.”

The logo is a clear parody of the Yankees logo though.”

Having some of the south Bronx in the game seems right on GTA’s style.”

Brett: “That’s true. Only about a month or so to go and we’ll find out for sure. I can’t wait.”

You got an HDTV? That game will look awesome on my screen.” Frank gestures to the LCD tv on the wall.”

Brett: “Very nice. No, I’m looking to get one for the release of the game though.”

Doesn’t hurt for sports either.”

Across the room…

So it looks like Janine and Mark are getting along. What are they talking about anyway?”

Economic theory or something. I hope Mark’s more interesting otherwise, but that conversation was boring me to death. Janine started in on supply and demand and I just immediately zoned out.”

Economics was not my strong class in college. Should we go interrupt?”

Yes, but let’s bring them something to drink. Most people don’t discuss complex formulae or have intricate discussions when they’re drunk.”

Meanwhile, Sara is having a conversation with a woman named Jessie, and Tabitha, who looks bored.

I always walk down Broadway if I have the opportunity. Since it’s slanted it actually makes the trip a little shorter than walking down a different avenue. Of course, this only works if you’re going downtown and east or uptown and west.”

Jessie: “That’s very intriguing Sara, but don’t you get bored of always walking down the same street? I like the excitement of seeing different storefronts and restaurants.”

Well that’s true. There is some merit to that train of thought, but it depends where I’m headed and if I’m in a hurry. Especially around here where I’ve pretty much walked down the avenues as much as Broadway, so that excitement isn’t quite there.”

Need another beer Sara?”

Sara peers into her beer bottle. “Yeah, just about.”

I got it. I’m out anyway.”

Tabitha walks over to the beer table, and runs into Frank getting a refill.

Sara’s on one of her drunken rants. It was all I could do not to eat my beer bottle to distract myself. Please bring her this beer?”

And get sucked in myself? No thanks. Mike!”

Mike walks over. Mike: “What’s up?”

Could you bring this beer over to Sara?”

Mike: “Umm..sure. I guess that’s not too taxing.”

Crisis averted. Thanks Frank.”

You are welcome. It comes at a cost though. I can’t recall how many beers I was getting.”

It’s beer, I’m sure if you get too many someone will drink it.”

Orr…I could abandon them completely and let them fend for themselves. I think I’ll go tell Janine scary Billy stories.”

Desert Island anyone?” Ann asks, carrying around a plate.

Are those jello shots?”

Yup! They’re good, I’ve already tried them.”

Ann circles the room, handing out jello shots.

Yum! These are much better than the drinks you made us last year! Good job.”

This is definitely the best jello shot I’ve tasted in my entire life.”

Janine: “Definitely. These are excellent!”

Mark? Could you get the other tray of jello shots out of the fridge?”

Ann turns around to see Mark already eating jello shots off the tray in the fridge.

Couldn’t wait huh?”

Mark: “What can I say? You make terrific jello shots, brings me back to my college days.”

You graduated last year.”

Mark: “I know. That’s still back isn’t it?”

I’ll tell you what’s back! Hamburger buns!” Scott slurs, as he jumps over the back of the couch to the kitchen.

Mark: “What?”

I was just thinking about how nice it would be to have a hamburger right about now. Harkens back to the good ‘ole days of last summer when we used to barbecue.”

Mark: “Are you mocking me?”

He’s not mocking you, he’s just Scott. You’re lucky Billy’s distracted or he’d be making comments too. They feed off each other.” Ann says, gesturing to Billy who’s kissing Janine in the corner.

Let’s see, do you think I should go to bed now? I figure that leaves me with five hours of sleep, and 90 minutes to fight the hangover and get out of the apartment to go get Super Smash Brothers.”

Or you could simply enjoy yourself, and get up when you get up.”

No, I have to get the game.”

Suit yourself. But I’m going to laugh at you when you’re miserable tomorrow.”

May she who is sober cast the first stone.”

She’s right Tab, you’re horrible with hangovers.”

However, Sara was right. It was getting late and people had started to leave. Mark had to work on Sunday and was returning home, Billy and Janine had retired for the night. As people started to leave Sara turned in early and Frank fell asleep on the couch. Scott was pacing around so me and Tabitha convinced him to pick up empty bottles and cups while he was walking around. We did a preliminary clean up of the area, looking for things that might stain or should be returned to the fridge. By the time we finished, (and finished another beer), the last stragglers had left and we headed for the sheets ourselves, confident that this party was a hell of a lot better than last year’s.

March

Welcome to the 6th floor.

Today’s contributors are: Ann, Sara, Tabitha, Frank, Billy and Scott.

Subject: March

It’s that time of month again!”

Oh no! She’s going to ask us about March! Run!”

Scott and Frank leap up and start dashing towards the bedrooms, but Ann blocks their way.

Tough. It won’t hurt that much, I promise.”

That’s what the doctor always says too, before he comes at me with a giant needle!”

At least he puts a Mickey Mouse band-aid on your boo-boo.”

Yeah, that’s true.” Frank sits back down and resumes his game with Sara.

Hey, I’m losing 34-22? You didn’t pause it?!”

Oh, you wanted it to pause it? My mistake.” Sara grins.

You’ll regret that! Prepare for an amazing comeback.”

My birthday’s in March, so that’s cool. This year’s the big Two Seven.”

The big Two Seven? What’s so great about 27?”

Well, It’s prime for one thing.” Sara calls over from the couch.”

No it’s not…nine and three..?”

Oops. Nevermind. So what is so great about 27 then Scott?”

I just wanted to say the big Two Seven. Nothing special.”

I know it’s a little cliché going with a food answers, but I like cornbeef and cabbage as well as Irish soda bread.”

Speaking of that, did you see that Guinness is looking to make St. Patrick’s Day an official holiday?”

Not a bad idea. I love Guinness.”

They got a petition I guess? I’d sign that.”

915,913 signatures to go apparently. That’s a lot in only two weeks. I don’t even like Guinness but I think it’s a good idea.”

They even have a commercial, where they’re interviewing what I guess is a pilgrim, asking him if he’s jealous about the idea.”

On that avenue of thought, I’m going to say green beer is my favorite thing about March.”

Green beer? You know it’s just food coloring right? I could make you some green beer right now.”

Wouldn’t taste the same if it’s not the 17th. Your turn Ann, I know how you like to weasel out of your own questions.”

That’s easy, my favorite thing about this March is that Wednesday marks one whole year of writing the blog. I’m proud of myself.”

A bit modest are we? I’m going to say Easter. It’s neat that it’s early this year. I Looove dying Easter Eggs.”

Yeah, that should be fun. Maybe we should all stick around here this year instead of going home to our families. Last but not least, Sara. No baseball reasons, you always find a way to make it about baseball.”

But.. But..”

No! And I might not let you use it in April either!”

Speaking of days that should be holidays, Opening Day should really be a national holiday so we can all watch our national pasttime.”

I’m with you there. Look on the bright side, I’m my own boss and you are unemployed. We can both watch it at leisure!”

I knew there was a benefit to being home all day! If I can’t have baseball, I’ll go with the ‘In like a lion, out like a lamb’ cliché. I look forward to the warm weather again.”

See, and no one died. If you guys start thinking about your April answers, maybe you won’t find it so grueling.”

And Frank, you suck. Did you just lose to Sara by 27 points?”

Best two out of three?”
