Subject: Shorts
Ann and Tabitha are playing the card game Spit in the dining room when Scott returns home. The first thing Tabitha notices is that he’s wearing shorts.
“I know it’s a nice day out, and that it’s almost spring, but it’s still chilly. Shorts? Really?”
“I’m tired of the winter. I’m thinking positively.”
“Thinking positively hasn’t changed the weather yet that I know of.”
“Maybe Scott’s discovered the global warming solution. We just think positively about the weather and it’s fixed!”
“We could all develop an icy stare.”
“You’re women..you’re born with an icy stare.”
Tabitha gives Scott a look.
“Exactly. I hate having to check the weather to dress appropriately. So once we have a warm day or so, I just go with shorts.”
“So it’s because you’re too lazy to check the weather? Why does that not surprise me?”
“It’s not lazy, I just don’t care. Besides, I’ve already packed up my winter clothes and stored them in the closet.”
“I’m going to laugh at you if the weather suddenly chills.”
“We’ve gotten snow in early April before. That would be funny to see.”
Scott snickers. “I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one. Besides, you were just complaining yesterday about being cold.”
“He’s got a point I guess..It’s not worth being cold again to laugh at Scott.”
“I think I could handle a day of frigid temperature just to see Scott shivering in the snow in his shorts.. Especially if he puts on a Hawaiian shirt to go with it.”
“As long as I can sip Mai Tais in my Hawaiian shirt, the cold won’t bother me.”

“I don’t think you’re allowed to drink Mai Tais unless you’re wearing a Hawaiian shirt actually.”
Happy St. Patricks Day!

Subject: Happy Green!
Sara is drinking coffee and browsing Google News in the morning before getting ready for work, Frank is brewing a second pot of coffee.
“You’re up early Frank. You going to the Parade?”
“Nah. Too crowded. I just ended up in bed early, so I’m up early. Going to make some Irish coffee..you want any?”
“No, I’m good..probably should get to work anyway.” Sara looks at her watch. “Got a couple of minutes..maybe a travel mug of Irish coffee..”
“Or a flask? You’ll fit right in with the homeless guys on the train!”
“A flask of Irish Coffee? I don’t think they make flasks insulated for heat.”
“Oh. True.” Frank says, pushing ‘on’ on the coffee pot.
“I’ll pick up some Guinness on the way home. We can drink them tonight.”
“Green eggs! That’s perfect! Want some?” Frank says, squeezing drops of green food coloring onto his eggs.
“Gross! I don’t think that’s what they mean by green eggs..”
“I’m just going to get a green bagel on the way. I’ll trust my food dyes to the professionals.”
“You’re missing out..”
“Eggs aren’t really my thing anyway. Take a picture though, I’m sure Billy will find it appetizing.”
“Billy finds everything appetizing.” Frank says, as he pours Irish Cream into his coffee.
“Exactly.”

Friday the 13th
Welcome to the 6th floor.

Subject: Scott’s Party
“We should totally throw a party for Scott! His birthday’s friday the 13th! Theme Party!”
“You are way too enthused by that.”
“Serve all sorts of spooky drinks?”
“Brain Hemorrhages. Watch horrror movies?”
“Certainly.”
“I’m sure he’d appreciate if we made him do 13 shots too.”
“Let’s try not to kill him.”
“We’ll make them weak. What’s a weak Orange and Black drink?”
“We still have that bottle of Blavod Black Vodka…and Orange Juice.”
“That sounds gross.”
“It’s Scott we’re talking about.”
“Gotta be careful not to mix them I think. Probably end up rather gross looking. Layered.”
“Better start off with that then, I suck at layering shots after I’ve had a couple.”
“I’m sure Scott’ll care less once he’s had a couple too though.”
“Can we rent a black cat?”
“I don’t think you can rent cats.”
“What else is Friday the 13thish?”
“Bad luck? Broken mirrors? That’s probably not safe.”
“I refuse to watch channel 13 all night.”
“We have two days, maybe we can come up with more ideas.”
