1986 music video. Cheesy, but still fun. The pyrotechnics were choreographed to the top musical hits of 1986. I thought that was pretty cool. I’m pretty sick of the same “Born in the USA” playlist played at fireworks show, not to mention that it was July 15th due to a long road trip and the All-Star Break.

Some fan appreciation stuff that I thought was nice to see. They added some ‘quickie’ beer and hot dog stands in center field, just behind the big apple seats. The area is generally more about the specialty food places and the better beer selection, but many people seated in that area just want some of that yellow fizz and a regular hot dog. I’m not sure if this was a ‘big crowd’ addition for games like those against the Phillies, or just some forethought on the location of vendors. Another nice change was during the Pepsi T-Shirt Launch. Normally (as far back as I can remember, even at Shea) they just shoot the t-shirts out of the cannons, occasionally reaching one or two into the upper levels of the stadium. On Friday I noted that they actually had some of the Pepsi Party Patrol members standing in the promenade throwing t-shirts around. I thought it was a nice touch, especially since the ‘cheap seats’ in the promenade are more often the people that actually want shirts.

<span style="font-size: 11px;
