{"id":1596,"date":"2011-10-04T20:20:14","date_gmt":"2011-10-05T00:20:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ceetar.com\/optimisticmetsfan\/?p=1596"},"modified":"2011-10-05T11:50:16","modified_gmt":"2011-10-05T15:50:16","slug":"more-info-on-2012-mets-tickets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ceetar.com\/optimisticmetsfan\/2011\/10\/04\/more-info-on-2012-mets-tickets\/","title":{"rendered":"More Info on 2012 Mets Tickets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The usual cast of bloggers just finished up a conference call with Mets VP Dave Howard about the new ticketing schemes. \u00a0Not a ton of new info came to light, but some things were clarified and hinted at.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I asked about the dynamic pricing floor. \u00a0 \u00a0Specifically that the dynamic pricing will never dip below what a season ticket holder paid for the same seat in that section. \u00a0 What was left unclear was if that meant you&#8217;ll never get a ticket less than $12 in sections 535\/536 where season ticket holders sit, or if you&#8217;ll never get a seat less than $12 in the Promenade Outfield section which encompasses a large subset of the cheaper seats.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is not a move towards being a small market team or anything. \u00a0The pricing was created off of a lot of data, meant to optimize revenue. \u00a0 Adjusting prices should help them sell more tickets, and if the team remains competitive all year, the dynamic pricing will increase revenue.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mets.lohudblogs.com\/2011\/10\/04\/the-new-renewal-deadline-november-7\/?utm_source=twitterfeed&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+mets+%28The+LoHud+Mets+Blog%29\" target=\"_blank\">Renewal date<\/a> is coming earlier, although there will be a payment plan option. \u00a0Basically it seems the Mets want your commitment as early as possible, but are more flexible with the actual cash. \u00a0It was hinted at that you could see your 2013 invoices by this time next year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mostly there wasn&#8217;t a lot of specifics revealed in the conference call. \u00a0Dave Howard mentioned keeping the ticket fees within a reasonable percentage of the ticket price, and mentioned that Tickets.com offered best technological package and had a good relationship with MLB. \u00a0Went into the thinking of dynamic pricing without breaking down when prices would go up\/down and what types of prices you could expect to see. \u00a0 \u00a0There will be more to come as season plans and individual ticket info is released. \u00a0I&#8217;d say the number one thing I took out of this is: \u00a0 Buying tickets day of game is getting to be a worse and worse idea around sports.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For now, read other recaps around Metsopotamia.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.metsblog.com\/2011\/10\/04\/live-blog-dave-howard-with-bloggers-about-ticket-pricing\/\" target=\"_blank\">Metsblog<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/metspolice.com\/2011\/10\/05\/thoughts-on-the-new-mets-ticket-pricing-and-options-part-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">Metspolice <\/a>has a bunch today, keep checking back for analysis.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazinavenue.com\/2011\/10\/4\/2470030\/transcript-of-mets-conference-call-regarding-ticket-changes-for-2012\" target=\"_blank\">Amazin&#8217;
