{"id":181,"date":"2008-08-11T12:08:00","date_gmt":"2008-08-11T17:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ceetar.com\/optimisticmetsfan\/?p=181"},"modified":"2008-08-11T12:08:00","modified_gmt":"2008-08-11T17:08:00","slug":"much-needed-activation-impending","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ceetar.com\/optimisticmetsfan\/2008\/08\/11\/much-needed-activation-impending\/","title":{"rendered":"Much Needed Activation Impending"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Argenis Reyes is hitting .232.<span style=\"\">   <\/span>He\u2019s had some moments, and may turn out to be pretty good, but it\u2019s not looking like it will be this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Damion Easley is batting .200 over the last 30 days and 21 games.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>Easley has never showed he\u2019s the right guy for an everyday spot on the Mets, he\u2019s best as a big pinch hitter off the bench.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Reports indicate Luis Castillo will be back tomorrow, and it\u2019s not a moment too soon.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>I hope his DL stint has allowed his knees to heal some, so that he can get back to playing an excellent second base as well as reaching base at a much higher pace than either Reyes or Easley.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>Castillo also has one of the highest averages with runners in scoring position on the team this year, something the Mets often have trouble with.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>You could hit him 8<sup>th<\/sup> if need be, but I think second works for him too.<span style=\"\">  <\/span>Delgado\u2019s increased power, and higher position in the order, since Castillo went on the DL will lead to a lot more runs where previously Castillo was drawing walks and being stranded.<span style=\"\">  <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Argenis Reyes is hitting .232.
