{"id":211,"date":"2008-12-16T10:08:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-16T15:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ceetar.com\/optimisticmetsfan\/?p=211"},"modified":"2008-12-16T10:08:00","modified_gmt":"2008-12-16T15:08:00","slug":"orioles-fan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ceetar.com\/optimisticmetsfan\/2008\/12\/16\/orioles-fan\/","title":{"rendered":"Orioles Fan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Mistaken for an Orioles fan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I don\u2019t really care what the Mets color scheme is, what uniforms they wear, or what symbols they use.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>The Citi Field logo isn\u2019t great, but I just don\u2019t care.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>Some fans dislike that the Mets every incorporated black into their apparel.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>I personally\u00a0don\u2019t care, although I like sticking to the history of the blue and orange from the Dodgers and Giants.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>Tangently, I really thought the All-Star jerseys worn in <st1:city st=\"on\">San Francisco<\/st1:city> in 2007 should\u2019ve been Black for the AL and <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Orange<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> for the NL, rather than the other way around. <span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0<\/span>It was just a passing thought though.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p>\u00a0<img src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_WiYnnqmj-NY\/SUfEoo84ceI\/AAAAAAAACj8\/XMS4xJ4VLU8\/s200\/0703Astros_1.jpg\" style=\"cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 162px; height: 200px;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280405290581783010\" \/><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">However, I do like variety.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>I was annoyed that the Diamondbacks ditched the purple.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>I actually like some of the older 80s style flashy uniforms.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>I dislike teams looking the same, everyone wearing the same grays and whites and pinstripes.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The other day I was out at a restaurant, wearing a black and orange Mets shirt that I\u2019d gotten cheap somewhere.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>One of the servers came over to me and said \u201cNice shirt\u201d<img src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_WiYnnqmj-NY\/SUfEod6jwzI\/AAAAAAAACj0\/1G-i0el1byM\/s200\/metsorangeblack.jpg\" style=\"cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 60px; height: 75px;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280405287619248946\" \/>, and happened to start talking baseball.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>He mentioned some third base prospect I\u2019d never heard of, and since I don\u2019t follow prospects or hot stove too closely, I figured he meant 2B, and it was some guy the Mets were looking at as a possible Castillo replacement.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>I gave a suitably vague answer, and he walked away, but I still felt confused.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0 <\/span>Then it dawned on me that he didn\u2019t actually see the front of my shirt, merely the colors, and I (which he came over and verified later) correctly assumed that he mistook me for an Orioles fan.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Must be sad times in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Baltimore<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> if the most exciting thing to look forward to is a 3B prospect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mistaken for an Orioles fan. \u00a0 I don\u2019t really care what the Mets color scheme is, what uniforms they wear, or what symbols they use.\u00a0 The Citi Field logo isn\u2019t great, but I just don\u2019t care.\u00a0 Some fans dislike that the Mets every incorporated black into their apparel.\u00a0 I personally\u00a0don\u2019t care, although I like sticking &hellip;
