{"id":811,"date":"2010-08-25T11:21:10","date_gmt":"2010-08-25T15:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ceetar.com\/optimisticmetsfan\/?p=811"},"modified":"2011-04-09T10:44:20","modified_gmt":"2011-04-09T14:44:20","slug":"left-field-landing-observations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ceetar.com\/optimisticmetsfan\/2010\/08\/25\/left-field-landing-observations\/","title":{"rendered":"Left Field Landing Observations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Edit, 3\/12\/11: The Mets have announced the last two sections of the Left Field Landing have been renamed Mr. Mets Landing, and discounted.\u00a0 Many of the pictures here, and in the full album <a href=\"https:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\/ceetar\/MarlinsAugust24th?authkey=Gv1sRgCLiq1rrenIWHtAE#\">here<\/a>, are from this section.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Edit, 4\/1\/11: And now it&#8217;s sponsored and called BJ&#8217;s Clubhouse.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Since Citi Field was mostly empty last night due to the team and the rain, I moved all over the Left Field Landing section where my seats were to get a feel for it.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve never sat there before, and I was surprisingly impressed with the vantage point.\u00a0 At least from the front six or so rows.\u00a0 Further back and you lose too much of left field for my liking.\u00a0 I ventured out to the farthest section, 339, and it was almost the same as watching it at home, from the center field camera.\u00a0 Actually, I could&#8217;ve reached out and touched the camera.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 325px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"centerfieldcam\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/_WiYnnqmj-NY\/THUWRFD0t0I\/AAAAAAAAJ-8\/ir-LnXV8h-I\/s640\/IMG_2056.JPG\" alt=\"Center Field Camera\" width=\"325\" height=\"244\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Center Field Camera<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There was this interesting thing out above the Apple, that seems to report wind speed and direction.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 319px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"windspeed\" src=\"http:\/\/lh4.ggpht.com\/_WiYnnqmj-NY\/THUWR2JLRVI\/AAAAAAAAJ_E\/H_UnIRqAXUc\/s640\/IMG_2058.JPG\" alt=\"Checking wind speed at Citi Field\" width=\"319\" height=\"239\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Checking wind speed at Citi Field<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!--more-->I enjoyed the vantage point from the outfield.\u00a0 Being in the first, or first handful, of rows keeps any obstructions to a minimum and you get a view point you never really got at Shea.\u00a0 There was a deep fly ball by a Marlin that the crowd gasped on, but from my seat I could tell it had no shot at reaching the fence.\u00a0 The Sanchez home run was probably a no doubter from everywhere, but from the outfield it was clear that there was no way it would fall short.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 486px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><\/dt>\n<dt class=\"wp-caption-dt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"DickeyDelivers\" src=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/_WiYnnqmj-NY\/THUWWJqTxDI\/AAAAAAAAJ_U\/FbmQ7EbPM9c\/s640\/IMG_2062.JPG\" alt=\"Dickey Delivers\" width=\"486\" height=\"364\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dickey Delivers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>From the right angle, you can actually see into the Mets bullpen bathroom.\u00a0 Good to know right? If you&#8217;re bored during a game, I guess you could see which bullpen player drinks the most coffee.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 552px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"bullpenbathroom\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/_WiYnnqmj-NY\/THUW_VOkmcI\/AAAAAAAAKBI\/TL5Z33nbsAE\/s640\/IMG_2089.JPG\" alt=\"Yes, Thats the bathroom for the Mets bullpen\" width=\"552\" height=\"414\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Yes, That&#39;s the bathroom for the Mets bullpen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>They burnt my knish.\u00a0 Felt like I was at Shea.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 356px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"knish\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/_WiYnnqmj-NY\/THUV_vxSwkI\/AAAAAAAAJ8A\/YpsAmAWn8EA\/s640\/IMG_2011.JPG\" alt=\"I used to get these at Shea\" width=\"356\" height=\"267\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">I used to get these at Shea<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I went in the Bullpen Gate for the first time.\u00a0 Just to be different.\u00a0 I still kind of like that area of the park.\u00a0 And you walk up the stairs and Boom!
