I arrived at Citi Field with plenty of time to get my foam finger to vote for Wright (and Pagan), get some fries, and get to my seat. It was a hot and steamy night, but the Mets made it worthwhile as I improve to 8-2 on the season at Mets games.
I’m not going to break down Manuel’s thought process, but I would’ve used Carter in that pinch hitting situation when they determined they should let Pagan have the rest of the game off after the muscle spasms. The crowd, who had previously been loud and excited, was befuddled and really had the wind taken out of them with that pinch hitter. Well, except for the guy with the Vuvuzela, which was quite annoying even from five sections over.
This was my first time actually sitting pretty close to behind home plate at Citi Field, and it was fun to watch R. A. Dickey’s knuckleball from that vantage point.
Many Mets fans booed the decision to bring in Frankie Rodriguez and not let Dickey finish. He didn’t make it a clean inning, but it certainly wasn’t a stressful one. The Mets win again at home, and keep rolling.
I was sitting in 515. I hope the vuvuzelas don’t catch on here. Maybe when the World Cup ends, so will the horn craze. Great game though.

besides you grammatically incorrect dolt….. the correct way to write it was vuvuzelas…… adding an apostrophe makes it a possessive….. kill yourself.
First Off,
Let me start by saying that section 522 is by far the most spiritied section at Citi Field with chants, songs, flags, and sometimes vuvuzela’s. We have been supporting our baseball club for a very long time now and are actually disappointed in the fan atmosphere at corporate field. We are one of the only sections that brings the noise and watches the game throughout the many painful seasons that we have endured. Before you speak about a general section being annoying we suggest you come and check us out, and get a taste of what baseball fan-hood is all about. You being an optimistic met fan tells me right off the bat that you are not a true New Yorker nor Met fan, oh wait did I just assume something!! Listen next time you decide to spy on us with your zoom lens thats probably larger than your R.A. DICKEY…come pay us a visit in the FIVE TWO TWO and see what a true section sounds like for Nine Innings with or without a vuvuzela. CITI FIELD TILL I DIE!!

I’m not knocking the cheering or the chanting. I love it, and i don’t think it’s Citi Field making people tame, I think it’s the general pessimistic/defeatist attitude of so many Mets fans. wasn’t so great during the end in 2008 either at Shea. I took one picture, because I wanted to get a picture of the vuvuzela because it’s relevant. I went back to cheering after that. (And I wasn’t one of the idiots booing ball 3, or Frankie. I _support_ my team)
Vuvuzelas are still annoying. Sorry. Worse than thundersticks or air horns (and there is a reason those are banned). stick to the regular cheering, we don’t need artificial noisemakers at Citi Field.
Also, the “surprised this guy didn’t get kicked out” comment was basically because the person who tried the same thing at Yankees Prison Stadium did get kicked out, and I was wondering if the Mets would follow suit. I imagine you wondered the same thing, since you waited until the 9th to blow it more than once. If you’re disappointed in the atmosphere at Citi Field, how about sticking to baseball and leaving the World Cup out of it? 99% of the people there are rooting for the Mets, but It’s probably a lot less rooting for USA.
Coach had it right we need more energy at Citi field. Why don’t you stop trying to hate on thee 522, and worrie about being creative and making some noise. If not then —— in the face!

Oh, I get how it works. Go to a game with a bunch of other assclowns and act like jerkoffs, and that makes you better Mets fans than anyone else. Maybe I have my kid at the game and don’t have the liberty to act like an idiot. So that makes Me or Ceetar or anyone else for that matter less of a Mets fan than you because we don’t bring signs or blow into horns at games.
